GrowFit Camp: Activity for hours. Fun for days.

To keep your kids active and energized during school breaks and holidays, GrowFit Camp provides a safe place for children to learn and play. Our campers discover new passions, engage in a variety of sports and group games and learn the values of teamwork and sportsmanship. Our unique, age-appropriate games and challenges help children build self-confidence, develop relationships and have lots of fun.

 

GrowFit Camp offers the following benefits:

Trained and enthusiastic staff. Camp is run by energetic and spirited PE teachers committed to making each camper's experience special and unique.

Age-appropriate groups. Campers are grouped with kids who share their ages and interests, to ensure that every child stays safe, engaged and has fun.

Complimentary extended care. The main camp program runs from 9:00am to 4:00pm, but we offer complimentary extended care from 8:00am to 6:00pm to make it as easy as possible for working families.

Central location. Our camp is located at SportsHouse in Redwood City, the largest indoor sports complex in the Peninsula. The facility includes indoor turf fields, basketball courts, volleyball courts, an outdoor beach volleyball court and two oversized jump houses.

Free hot lunch. Each camper receives a daily hot lunch from Kicks Grill that includes an entree item and fresh seasonal fruit.

 

GrowFit Campers play sports and activities all day:

Activities for younger groups. Campers participate in 8 different activities each day in 30 minutes blocks.

  1. Why choose GrowFit?
    GrowFit Camp offers kids a supportive, inclusive learning environment to participate in a variety of sports and group games while learning the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.
     
  2. What kind of activities/programs does GrowFit Camp offer?
    The majority of a camper's day will be filled with a variety of sports (soccer, basketball, volleyball, field hockey, baseball and flag football), group games (capture the flag, dodgeball and tag), special activities (bubble soccer and jump house) and more.
     
  3. Does my camper need to have a knowledge or background in sports?
    No, campers of all ability types and beginners are highly encouraged to join us.
     
  4. Will my camper be with children of the same grade?
    Yes, all campers are grouped according to age.
     
  5. Can my almost four year old come to camp? 
    Children must be four years old to attend camp. Toddle, http://toddle.org/index.html, is a local preschool that offers drop-in days for children less than four years of age. 
     
  6. What’s included in lunch?
    Lunch is provided by Kicks Grill each day and includes one of four entrees; cheese pizza (Mondays), chicken tenders (Tuesdays & Fridays), pasta (Wednesdays) and hamburgers (Thursdays). Each meal includes fresh fruit.
     
  7. What happens if camp is full the weeks I want?  
    If camp is full, your name will be added to the waitlist. You will not be charged to be on the waitlist, nor is there any obligation to sign up once you're on it.
     
  8. Is it possible to transfer my camp session to a different week?
    Yes. If you give us 14 days advance notice and space is available, you may transfer your session to a different week.
     
  9. Can I transfer my session to another camper?
    You may only transfer your session to another camper within your immediate family.
     
  10. Can my camper be grouped with their friends?
    Absolutely. You can make a note on the registration page if your camper wants to be grouped with someone else. However, we cannot group campers of different age groups, because activities are designed specifically for certain age groups.
     
  11. What if my child has a serious allergy at camp?
    Before campers arrive, each parent must fill out the medical history form as part of the online registration. If your camper has a severe allergy, we will do our best to accommodate their restrictions. We can offer support such as nut-free tables during lunch or hold EpiPens on hand in case of an emergency.
     
  12. Can my child attend camp if they have special needs?
    If you think your camper might need special accommodations while at camp, please contact us via email or phone. We are pleased to welcome every camper.
     
  13. How do I know my camper is safe?
    All GrowFit staff go through extensive background checks and attend professional development specific to physical education teaching. Campers are always under supervision during each part of the day. In the event of a minor injury parents will be notified via a phone call, email or in person during pick-up/drop off. In case of an emergency we will call 911 if need and immediately notify the parent or guardian.
     
  14. Can children without immunizations join GrowFit programs?
    We require all participants to be up to date on immunizations and vaccinations.
     
  15. Is the camp equipped to handle an emergency like a fire?
    Yes. Our staff rehearses evacuation procedures for fires, earthquakes, lockdowns and any other problem that may arise on campus.  All first responders in the area are contacted prior to the start of camp as well.
     
  16. What does my child need to bring to camp?
    Each child should bring snacks, a water bottle and athletic shoes (no cleats, however).
     
  17. Can I split my week or choose single days during the summer?
    During the first and last two weeks of camp we offer single day camp sessions. For the remainder of the summer our sessions are week-long and cannot be split.
     
  18. What is your refund policy?
    Refunds are given to all families that cancel at least 14 days prior to the first day of camp. Cancellations within 14 days are non-refundable.
     
  19. What if I am late and pick up my camper after 6pm?
    A fee of $1 per minute is charged for picking up your camper any time after 6pm.
